Hi! I have a son with hfa. He is 3 1/2. His name is Brandon. We found out at 2. He didn't start talking until the ABA at 2 1/2. He has 372 words. As of today. Most nouns. He is in preschool in a special class for kids like him. He is getting a behaviorist through the regional center here. He is resisting potty training like you wouldn't believe! (yes you would.) All the chocolate and incentives in the universe are not working.Even no diapers doesn't work. He could care less. Even if he does get mad he forgets and 30 min.later he pees his underwear. He has big sensory issues on running, visual stims, jumping(he even has a trampoline), rolling head etc... He is 200% better than he used to be but he can still drive me nuts! He has a 20 month sister. He finally looks at her as a human and not a doll. She is showing signs too and some are unique to her. She closes her eyes all the time walks that way too. Anyone else have that problem. I have not heard of htat. She also has Reflux. Both of my children are my loves of my life even if I complain. It is so frustrating because I try so hard and it seems like I am spinning my wheels. Not a day goes by that they don't make me smile. So that is worth it right there. I hope I can get some better perspectives here at this site. Thanks for reading this. Brandon & Andrea's mom

Welcome to the group! I dont know if this idea about the potty training will work for you or not but it did for my son but then again he was 4 1/2 by the time he was completely trained. My husband made up this lil song that goes like this " Big boys poop in the toilet , babies poop in their pants " and then everytime that he did poop in the toilet we would cheer " yay Jimmy , thats a good boy " and he would get a big old smile. Still to this day we have to go look at his poop and praize him. Cheri
