Hi, my son is 8 and is finally diagnosed with aspberger syndrome. I am concerned about how to teach him to stay on task, personal pride for a job well done. we have the school on board and even though he is concidered autistic the only way the school would be able to give him help in completing work was through pragmatic speech.. He is very high functioning and very verbal, I have worked hard teaching social graces like eye contact. I scream in frustration in my head because homework is the worst time of my day..... how do I teach him to be more independent and RELIABLE?

Hi! We have a dandy of a time with my son too. We have found that where I have to resort to bribery and begging....my father in law shuts off everything, sits with him, cues him, cheers him on, and gets it done with limited hassle. Sometime the person (different) makes the difference. I think he sees it as quality time with Papa. If that fails I give 5 black olives for every 2 papers done. Good luck
