Greetings All! I am new to....everything apparently. My 8 yr old was last year diagnosed as adhd combined type with irritable mood disorder....possible autism. We put him on meds as recommended by the doctor. This year he was again diagnosed as ADHD, PDD-NOS, possible Aspergers, Depressive, Anxiety, and High risk. OYE! All of a sudden (or I am oblivious to the obvious) he can no longer function in his 1st grade classroom. He is currently enrolled in a small private school where my Mom teaches and he is treated like a rock star. The school and staff have been amazing and despite great efforts we all believe he can no longer function (Happily) in the very loving atmosphere. Mind you he is a solid "A" student. In fact, this last semester he received 5 A's and 2 B's. Best report card yet. But, he is miserable. Meltdowns, paranoia, agitation, lack of focus, generally a very unhappy boy. Called a "team meeting" to review his new medical results and change in status and new game plan. The school solution is to remove him from loving "safe" atmosphere and place him in the public school system. Services will be determined and adjusted as he fails. Did I mention he is RIGID in his schedules and unable to handle change in any form. HELP PLEASE. Any advice would be a godsend. Thanks.
