Hi, My name is Casey and my son has aspergers syndrome. It is so hard to deal with and most days I feel helpless. He gets so mad so easily and I alot of times just don't know what to do. He is also ADHD/ODD. The doctors have him on 25 mg of Adderall in the morning and midday then he takes seroquil in the evening which is 25 mg. Has anyone else ever dealt with these medicines and if so did they work for your child? I was reading the section on meltdowns and it is so familiar to what I deal with on a daily basis most times. Glad to be here a part of a group where you are understood and not judged cause of your childs disabilities. Can't wait to talk to you all and get some help by listening, reading and talking.

Our neurologist had our children on celexa & adderall, but we took them off because they acted worse with the drugs than without.
I'd rather have a slightly hyper child than have them chewing the skin off of their fingers and toes like they were.
What's been working for us is to try to remain calm at all times, no matter how frazzled we feel and it seems to work. There's a lot less screaming and meltdowns than there used to be, but that could also be because they are getting older.
