My son is 2, and for the past two years I have been trying to get my DR to take me serious. When my son was born he would never turn into me to feed, couldn't get him to breast feed for that reason. From birth he never wanted to be held, just put him in the swing and thats where you spent most of his time. Even now he HATES to be on his back, he has to be changed standing up or he goes into a total melt down. Since birth he has always hand flapped - and now the hand flapping has calmed down some but is still there when nervous, scared, upset or excited.
At two he still wakes thru the night, does not sleep for long periods of time at all.
He has no balance, trips and falls all the time, doesn't matter if he is bare feet or has shoes.. and lately i've noticed that he's walking on this tip toes.
When he plays, its not with anyone, just to line up his cars all around the house.. and the only other toys he plays with are those with lights and music... but he's not playing with the toys, he's just watching the pretty lights.
He doesn't speak much.. says ma and dada, pa and ba - other then that he points and screams or groans. When you ask him where his nose is he runs for a car.. but tell him ur going outside and he gets his shoes.....
His eating habits are totally off the wall.... he hardly eats anything, and can only drink certain juices as he gets really bad gas - my son has always had trouble digesting foods and when younger he never burped - it was always a wet sound and he would scream b4 burping... DR kept saying it was nothing.
But his meltdowns are the WORST - last week he broke all his toenails by kicking at the coffee table - these meltdowns can go from 1 hr to 3hrs of just complete screaming - and when he is in these states he's looking at me.... wanting me... but for some reason he just can't have me.... nothing i do makes him feel better.
I know that until my DR gives us a referral I'm sort of in limbo, but does anyone have any intervention programs that i might be able to do at home, any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks for your time.
